Cypress Homeschool Association (CHA) is proud to offer a variety of events and activities for homeschooled children in Cypress, Texas. Please note the following important guidelines for membership:

Eligibility:
Families must have at least one K–12 child between the ages of 5 and 18. We are not a preschool group.
Grade Level Registration:
When registering, please enter the grade level your child would be in if enrolled in public school, not the academic level they are currently studying. If a different grade level is entered, it will be adjusted during the registration process.
Membership Year and Fee:
CHA’s membership year runs from July 1 to June 30.
Membership is $30 per family, per school year, regardless of when you join.
This fee is due at the time of application; applications without payment will not be approved.
Membership fees are non-refundable.
Event Location:
Most CHA events take place in the Cypress area, with occasional exceptions for field trips. While we welcome homeschool families from across the Houston area, please consider whether this location works for your family before applying.

By electronically signing this form, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the Cypress Homeschool Association (CHA) Code of Conduct.

As a parent, you are fully responsible for the behavior of your child(ren). Both children and parents are expected to treat tour guides, venue staff, and fellow CHA families with respect during all CHA-sponsored field trips and events.

Please keep in mind that our community includes a wide range of ages and parenting styles. When attending a CHA event or field trip, you are representing both CHA and the broader homeschooling community. We have worked diligently to build a positive reputation that allows us to access enriching field trip opportunities. Help us maintain this reputation by modeling and encouraging appropriate behavior in group settings.

In the event of a personal conflict with another CHA family, we ask that parents handle such matters directly and respectfully. CHA board members will not serve as mediators in interpersonal disputes.

3. Payment Policy

Each CHA event or field trip will include a designated RSVP and payment deadline. For events requiring payment, your RSVP is not considered complete until payment is received.

All payments must be made electronically through the Cypress Homeschool Association website. No other payment methods are accepted.

Please only sign up for an event or field trip if you are fully committed to attending. CHA secures group discounts and makes arrangements based on RSVP numbers. If an emergency prevents you from attending after signing up, notify the event coordinator as soon as possible.

4. Cancellation Policy

Before the Payment Deadline:
If you cancel before the payment deadline, you are not responsible for payment. Any payment already made will be credited to your Homeschool Life account.

After the Payment Deadline or Last-Minute Cancellations:
If you cancel after the payment deadline or cannot attend at the last minute, no refund will be issued. However, you may find a replacement to attend in your place and arrange reimbursement with that individual. The event coordinator must be notified of the change in attendees.

Outstanding Balances:
If your account carries a balance due for an event you signed up for, payment is still required even if you do not attend. To avoid charges, be sure to cancel your RSVP before the payment deadline.

Cancellations by CHA:
If CHA cancels or reschedules a field trip and you are unable to attend on the new date, a full refund will be issued.

Timeliness:
Please arrive on time. Field trips begin promptly at the scheduled time. Allow for travel time and unexpected delays. If you arrive late, the group will proceed without you. In some cases, you may not be allowed to join the group, and no refund will be provided.

5. Release of Liability

I, the undersigned, in lawful consideration for my child(ren) being permitted to participate in activities organized by the Cypress Homeschool Association (CHA), do hereby fully and irrevocably release and waive any and all claims or rights that I, my heirs, legal representatives, assigns, or any affiliated parties may have now or in the future against CHA. This includes, but is not limited to, claims for personal injury (including death), property damage, or any other form of loss or liability, regardless of cause.

Furthermore, I agree to hold the Cypress Homeschool Association harmless from any and all injuries, damages, or losses arising out of participation in CHA activities, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other acts of CHA.

In addition, I grant CHA and its authorized representatives the right to use photographs or video images of myself and/or my child(ren), taken during CHA events, for use in CHA publications and on its members-only website. These images may be used for informational, promotional, or archival purposes.

I have carefully read and fully understand the terms of this Release of Liability. I acknowledge that this is a legally binding agreement, and I voluntarily agree to its terms.
