Cypress Homeschool Association is proud to offer a variety of events and activities for homeschooled children K-12 in Cypress, Texas. You must have a K-12 child (aged 6-18) to join, we are not a preschool group.

You must register with the grade level your child would be if they were in public school, NOT the grade level they are currently studying. If something different than the age appropriate grade is entered, it will be adjusted during the registration process.

Annual $30 membership fee is due now; unpaid applications will not be approved. Refunds are not issued for membership fees.

***Our events are held in the Cypress area only, with few exceptions for field trips, etc. While we welcome homeschoolers from anywhere in the Houston area, please make sure this will fit the needs of your family before applying***

Please note that our membership year runs from June 1st to May 31st. The cost is $30 per school year per family regardless of when during the year you join.

1. Code of Conduct and Field Trip Policy - you must agree to this in order to be accepted into CHA.

By electronically signing this form, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct.

You, as the parent, are responsible for your child(ren) and their behavior. Children and parents are expected to be respectful to tour guides, venue employees, and other CHA families at all CHA field trips and events.

Please remember that we are all homeschoolers with a wide range of children’s ages and parenting philosophies. When attending a field trip or CHA-sponsored event, you are representing CHA and homeschoolers. We have worked very hard over the years to establish a positive reputation for our organization which affords us great field trip opportunities. Please consider what is appropriate behavior in a group setting and advise your children accordingly.

If you or your child have an interpersonal conflict with another CHA family, please work it out respectfully between the parents. The CHA board members will not be responsible for mediating interpersonal disputes.

Payment Policy

For each event, there is a payment/R.S.V.P. date. For field trips requiring payment, your payment finalizes your RSVP.

Electronic payment is the only acceptable method of payment via the Cypress Homeschool Association website.

Only sign up for a field trip if you are committed to going. CHA receives discounts and makes arrangements based on R.S.V.P. numbers. If an emergency arises, please notify the coordinator as soon as possible.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel before the payment deadline, you are not responsible for payment and any payments will be returned as a credit on your Homeschool Life account.

If you cancel after the payment date or cannot attend at the last minute, you will not receive a refund. You may find a replacement on your own and arrange for reimbursement with that individual, and the coordinator must be notified of the change in attendees.

If your account has an outstanding balance, you will need to pay it even if you do not attend the event. To avoid this, if you decide not to attend the event, please cancel your sign-up before the last day of the specified date.

If CHA cancels or reschedules the field trip and you are unable attend, CHA will refund your amount paid.

Promptness is required, as field trips will start promptly at the designated time. Please allow for travel time and any other circumstances that might delay you. If you are late, you need to understand that field trip will proceed on time without you and in some circumstances you may not be allowed to join the group. No refund will be given. 2. Release of liability: I, (below signed name), in due and lawful consideration for my child/children being permitted to take part in activities of the Cypress Homeschool Association, do hereby fully and completely release and waive any and all rights and claims that I, my heirs, devisees, guardians, legal representatives, subrogees, and assigns might now or hereafter have against Cypress Homeschool Association for personal injury, including death, property damage, or any other right or claim whatsoever, however caused, and that we do hereby agree for ourselves, corporately or individually, to hold the Cypress Homeschool Association harmless with respect to all injuries or damages arising out of or as a result of entering into the activities of Cypress Homeschool Association whether caused, in whole or in parts by negligence or other acts of Cypress Homeschool Association. In addition I also grant to the Cypress Homeschool Association’s authorized representatives, the right to use, reproduce, adopt, distribute, publish and publicly display the negatives and photograph(s) of my child(ren) and myself taken at CHA events for CHA publications and members-only website. I have carefully read the agreement and fully understand its content. I am aware that this is a release and waiver of liability and claim and a contract between myself and Cypress Homeschool Association, and I have signed it of my own free will.

3. IN CONSIDERATION OF my childred (named above) being allowed to participate in any way in Cypress Homeschool Association, hereinafter “CHA”, (“Releasee”), related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

The risks of injury and illness (ex: communicable diseases such as MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19) to my child from the activities involved in these programs are significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce these risks, the risks of serious injury and illness do exist; and,

1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees, or otherwise, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,

2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,

3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS CHA, its directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the participation WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, arising from the negligence of the releasees or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. I, for myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS all the above Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I, FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE, AND FAMILY, HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian, with legal responsibility for this participant, have read and explained the provisions in this waiver/release to my child/ward including the risks of presence and participation and his/her personal responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations for protection against communicable diseases. I for myself, my spouse, and child/ward do consent and agree to his/her release provided above for all the Releasees and myself, my spouse, and child/ward do release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees for any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s/ward’s presence or participation in these activities as provided above, even if it arises from their negligence, to the fullest extent provided by law.
